Old Mutual Life Assurance Uganda Limited is thrilled to announce the following appointments to its Board of Directors.
Dr. Kalema is an experienced economist, banker and negotiator who has worked with high-level government officials, policymakers, and private sector management in Africa and other emerging markets. She has worked in the Ratings and banking industries and on boards of Charity and Social Impact Investment sectors in the UK and Africa.
She wrote the proposal that won a US State Department sponsorship tender for initial ratings for Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries and successfully built up the SSA rating business for Fitch Ratings from one sovereign to over 20 sovereigns and several financial institutions and corporates. She has been honored in 2015 by the UK Chapter of Africa 2.0 Foundations as one of the “30 Inspirational Women Shaking up Africa”.
Veronica has a strong background in economics, finance, and risk management and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and PhD in Economics from the London Business School.

Mr. Voss is an experienced life assurance actuary. He qualified through the Institute of Actuaries (UK) and is a retired Fellow Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa. He was an active member of various committees of said Actuarial Society. He also represented the Actuarial Society on the SAICA long-term insurance project group and SAM Corporate Governance task group.
His areas of expertise include IFRS, Product development, actuarial valuation, and financial reporting, having gained experience working in various segments (Retail Affluent, Retail Mass, Employee Benefits) of a large life office as well as in Central Actuarial and Finance. He also represented Old Mutual on the CFO Forum in Europe for about ten years, actively lobbying the International Accounting Standards Board re IFRS17. Mr Voss was the Chief Actuary for Old Mutual in South Africa for six years leading up to his early retirement. Since then, he has been an independent director of Old Mutual life companies in Namibia, Kenya and Nigeria.
Gary holds a B.Sc, with distinction - majoring in Statistics and Actuarial Science.

Ms. Kabagambe is an Economist, Fund Manager, and Transaction Advisor with experience working across different markets including Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and the United Kingdom.
She has experience structuring growth capital and providing cross-cutting advisory services to increase productivity as well as the competitiveness of organizations.
Ms. Kabagambe is the Founder and current Managing Director at Bethel Advisors as well as the Partner and Head of East Africa at TLG Capital.
Her advisory portfolio includes the UK Government, the World Bank, the Government of Uganda, Private Equity Funds, and regional Development Finance Institutions.
Amanda holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University.

Mr. Niyitegeka is a Digital Program Developer, Innovation Advisor and Digital Strategy Advisor. He has supported the development of digital strategies for several companies and the government of Uganda. He is currently the Executive Director of Refactory Limited, where his responsibilities include providing leadership and developing appropriate strategies for the organization. Michael is also the Country Manager for ICDL Africa -Uganda where he provides advocacy leadership primarily focusing improving digital literacy adoption.
Michael was a member of the ICT Technical Working Group of the Presidential Investor Round Table and the Advisory group for the Government of Uganda on the 4th Industrial Revolution Technologies. He has been a member of several technology innovation review panels both locally and internationally. He is a Rotarian and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of technology business leaders.
Michael holds an Executive MBA (Master in Business Administration) from ESAMI/Maastricht School of Management - Arusha, Tanzania.
