UAP Old Mutual hosts the second edition of startup boot camp in Uganda

Startupbootcamp are a series fast-track Fintech and Insurtech events hosted in 16 countries all over the world to identify startups with new innovative ideas leveraging on disruptive technology. Of the pool, the top 50 start-ups are selected out which 10 of them are invited for the final selection in Cape-Town, South Africa. This year, the 10 best startups will be hosted in November.

The fast-Track in Uganda was hosted and sponsored by UAP Old Mutual group at their home in Nakawa Business Park. The event was officially opened by the Managing Director of UAP Old Mutual Life Assurance Uganda, Mr. Anthony Githuka who in his address encouraged startups to use the opportunity to develop new innovative ideas leveraging on technology that will create new markets, displace the existing market leadership firms, products and adherences as well as disrupting existing market and value chain.

The managing director of Startupbootcamp and Alumni of Stanford University California, Zachariah George encouraged the startups to synergize with the mentors at the event as they were a source of guidance on how the startups can conceptualize their innovations.

The benefits of taking part in this camp include;
