    Motor Comprehensive Insurance protects you against loss or damage to your own vehicle, as well as third party liabilities including injury, death, or property damage.

    A third party is any person other than you (the insured). This includes other drivers, passengers, pedestrians, or property owners who may be affected by an accident involving your vehicle.

    It covers:

    • Accidental damage to your vehicle
    • Theft of your vehicle or parts of your car
    • Fire damage
    • Damage caused by floods, storms, earthquakes, or falling objects
    • Vandalism and malicious damage
    • Third-party injury or death
    • Third-party property damage

    It also includes additional benefits such as towing, windscreen replacement, medical expenses for the driver, and roadside assistance.

    The standard geographical coverage for motor comprehensive is Uganda. Extensions may be arranged if needed.

    Motor Comprehensive Insurance typically lasts for 12 months and can be renewed annually.

    Some exclusions include:

    • Normal wear and tear
    • Mechanical or electrical breakdown
    • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
    • War or related risks
    • Theft by your employee
    • Damage to tyres due to punctures or bursts

    Your vehicle is insured based on its market value.

    You should:

    • Notify Old Mutual immediately through our contacts 0800 132 700/0800 315 315 or email: claimsuic@oldmutual.co.ug.
    • Old Mutual will acknowledge receipt and advise on the claim reference number.
    • A claim form will then be shared. Old Mutual will request for support documents if needed. 
    • Client fills in claim form and submits together with the support documents.
    • Old Mutual reviews and revert with an offer in form of a discharge voucher or could ask for additional information to conclude on the claim.
    • Client signs and shares the Discharge voucher clearly stating the bank account details for payment. Then the payment will be processed on to the client account.
    • Depreciation, wear and tear, mechanical and electrical breakdown
    • Damage to tyres unless the vehicle is damaged as well.

    Yes. You can cancel your policy by giving written notice. A refund may be given depending on the terms and whether a claim has been made.

    Cash payments are not accepted.
